SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (Dec. 22, 2025) — Holiday spirit was on full display in downtown Springfield this year as the Christmas Tree Village and SantaCon brought the community together — even as more than four inches of snow blanketed the city.
On Friday, Dec. 12, at Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company, local businesses, organizations, families and groups of friends gathered to decorate 28 Christmas trees as part of the Christmas Tree Village, an initiative hosted by United Way of Clark, Champaign, and Madison counties. The decorated trees were donated to The Salvation Army of Clark County and distributed to families in need, providing both a Christmas tree and holiday decorations.
Participants sponsored a tree and spent the evening decorating with creativity and care, knowing each tree would become part of a family’s holiday celebration. The finished trees remained on display throughout SantaCon, allowing attendees to vote for their favorite while celebrating the generosity of the community. A group of volunteers made up of high school students, and area business leaders helped transport the trees to the Salvation Army on the following Monday.
The celebration continued Saturday as SantaCon filled downtown Springfield with holiday energy. Despite more than four inches of snowfall, die-hard local SantaCon fans bundled up, donned Santa suits and festive attire, and packed the streets to enjoy live music, holiday beverages, costume contests and the camaraderie that has made the event a Springfield tradition.
United Way of Clark, Champaign, and Madison Counties, extends sincere thanks to Greg and Kathryn Rogers, founders and designers of SantaCon, whose vision has helped grow the event into a beloved Springfield tradition now in its seventh year. United Way also thanks Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company for hosting, along with everyone who braved about the snowy conditions to participate.
Year after year, SantaCon continues to bless the community by pairing holiday fun, business sponsors, and volunteers, together to make a meaningful impact. Proceeds from the event will be distributed by United Way of Clark, Champaign, and Madison Counties to trusted local nonprofit partners, supporting programs and services that strengthen families and communities throughout the region.
SantaCon continues to stand as a testament to Springfield’s resilience, generosity, and holiday spirit — proving that not even a snowstorm can dampen a community determined to celebrate and give back.
